Afghanistan, Pakistan: Protest ongoing at the Torkham border crossing, Aug. 11

Truck drivers and traders are protesting at the Torkham border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan on Aug. 11. The action has been ongoing for several days in opposition to a requirement that drivers obtain a new transit document (Temporary Admission Document or TAD). The protest action and new requirements have reportedly disrupted the cross-border movement of cargo vehicles since early August.
