Iran-backed militants launched a projectile attack targeting US-led coalition forces at the Conoco Gas Field base in Syria's Deir Ez-Zur Governorate late Aug. 13. The projectile attack reportedly failed to reach the Conoco base, and no casualties or damage were reported. Following the barrage, unconfirmed reports claimed that US-led coalition forces conducted retaliatory strikes on militant positions in the Deir Ez-Zur countryside.

Additional projectile attacks may target US-led coalition forces in eastern Syria over the short term.
