As of early afternoon Aug. 8, firefighters are responding to a fire in a recycling facility in Great Blakenham, Ipswich. The fire, which began mid-morning, is reportedly producing significant amounts of thick smoke in the area. Rail travel on the adjacent line from Ipswich to Needham Market has been suspended. The cause of the blaze remains unclear. There are no immediate reports of casualties. Authorities have advised residents to keep windows closed.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heightened security presence in the affected area until the fire has been completely extinguished. Transport and business disruptions will probably affect the vicinity of the incident site through Aug. 8.
