France: Flights cancelled due to a personnel strike at Clermont-Ferrand Airport on Nov. 29
Unionized airport personnel striking at Clermont-Ferrand Airport Nov. 29; air travel disruptions, cancellations.
Unionized personnel operating at the Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport (CFE) are participating in industrial action on Nov. 29. The strike is to demand improved salaries. The airport has reportedly been closed, and no operations will be occurring through Nov. 29. All flights departing and arriving at CFE were canceled or rerouted.
Depending on the union negotiations, further cancellations are possible in the coming days. On Nov. 29, pickets of striking workers could materialize in the airport area.
Reconfirm all flight reservations if traveling via CEF Nov. 29 and likely Nov. 30-Dec. 2 due to possible follow-up strikes. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Avoid any demonstration as a precaution.
