Argentina: Tucumán Airport closed June 1-August 31

Tucumán International Airport (TUC) to close June 1 to August 31 for renovation works; flights diverted to Río Hondo Airport (RHD)

Warning

Event

Tucumán’s Teniente General Benjamín Matienzo International Airport (TUC), located in the northwest of the country, will be closed from June 1 through August 31 due to scheduled renovation work. No flights will take off or land at the airport during this three-month period. Airlines are expected to operate their Tucumán flights out of Río Hondo-Termas International Airport (RHD), located approximately 100 km (60 mi) to the south of TUC. A free shuttle service will operate between the two airports. Flight cancelations and reduced schedules are also possible. Disruptions beyond August 31 cannot be ruled out, e.g. if construction is not completed on schedule.

Context

Airlines that serve TUC include Aerolíneas Argentinas (the national carrier), LATAM, and Austral Líneas Aéreas.
