Heavy rain, possible flooding and landslides in Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico (Yucatán Peninsula) through June 15

A low pressure system located off the eastern coast of Central America is expected to bring heavy rain and stormy conditions to parts of Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico (Yucatán Peninsula) through at least Friday, June 15. According to the US-based National Hurricane Center, the system is not currently expected to form into a cyclone. Flooding and landslides, as well as associated transportation disruptions and power outages, are possible.
Context
Heavy rain is common in the region during the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which extends from June 1 to November 30, with the largest concentration of storms typically occurring between August and October.
