Unidentified projectiles fired from Wonsan (Kangwon province) into Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone on October 2; similar launches possible in coming days

The South Korean Joint Chief of Staffs (JCS) said that unidentified projectiles were fired toward the East Sea from North Korea just after 07:00 (local time) on Wednesday, October 2. According to media reports, the projectiles were launched from Wonsan (Kangwon province) and the first fell outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), while a second fell into the EEZ at 07:27. No injuries or damages were immediately reported.
Similar North Korean launches are possible over the coming days.
