The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.4-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Tanna Island on Monday, October 21, at approximately 02:52 (local time). The earthquake struck 59 km (36 mi) north-northeast of Isangel at a depth of 226 km (140 mi). No tsunami warning has been issued. Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
