An explosion occurred near the Charahi Shaheed intersection of Kabul's Police District (PD) 10 at approximately 0730 Feb. 1. A magnetic improved explosive device (IED) reportedly targeted a vehicle carrying Khoshnood Nabizadeh, the head of the office of the Ministry of State for Peace Affairs, and the founder of an Afghan news agency. There have been no immediate reports of casualties. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Authorities may heighten security and close roads near the blast site for investigations in the coming hours.
