Albania: Authorities tighten domestic COVID-19-related restrictions through at least Feb. 25 /update 20

Albania to tighten COVID-19-related domestic measures through Feb. 25. Certain entry restrictions remain in place.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Albania will tighten certain coronavirus disease (COVID-19) domestic restrictions Feb. 11-25 due to an increase in infection rates. Officials will extend the curfew hours to 2000-0600 during this period; curfew hours were previously 2200-0600. Residents may only leave their homes for essential work and health emergencies during curfew hours. Additionally, all bars, restaurants, and cafes will be limited to takeout during the curfew periods. Gatherings will remain limited to 10 people, and facemasks are mandatory in all indoor and outdoor public spaces.

Authorities are also maintaining certain international entry COVID-19 related restrictions as of Feb. 10. Direct flights with the UK remain suspended due to a new strain of COVID-19 active in that country. All passengers who arrive in Albania with the UK as their point of origin must self-isolate for 14 days upon entry. International flights and maritime transport continue to operate in Albania. Moreover, all land borders are open, and no mandatory quarantine requirement is in place except for travelers arriving from the UK.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
