Albania: Authorities allow flights with UK to resume from April 12 following COVID-19-related suspension /update 22

Albania allows flights with UK to resume as of April 12 following COVID-19 suspension. Domestic restrictions eased slightly.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Albania have issued orders allowing direct flights with the UK to resume, effective April 12. The move follows a monthslong flight suspension due to COVID-19 variant strains active in UK. Other international flights and maritime transport continue to operate in Albania. Moreover, all land borders are open, and no mandatory quarantine requirement is in place for travelers.

At the same time, authorities are slightly easing some domestic restrictions. Effective April 12, the nationwide curfew will start two hours later, with the new curfew hours running 22:00-06:00. Residents may only leave their homes for essential work and health emergencies during curfew hours. Additionally, all bars, restaurants, and cafes are limited to takeout service during curfew hours. Gatherings remain capped at 10 people, and facemasks are mandatory in all indoor and outdoor public spaces.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
