A magnitude-5.1 offshore earthquake occurred near the coast of Guerrero at around 05:02 April 29. The epicenter was about 46 km (29 miles) south-southwest of Los Achotes, and 226 km (140 miles) west of Chilpancingo. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles), and weak-to-light shaking was probably felt throughout most of Guerrero and Michoacan states. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake.
