The militants reportedly stormed the center of the town and occupied Datu Paglas market. There are no immediate reports of civilian casualties, but security personnel evacuated nearby residents. Local officials claimed there is no broader threat to the public.

Localized business and transport disruptions are almost certain nearby. Officials have closed National Highway 76 between Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat Province, and Tulunan, Cotabato Province.
