Ground travel disruptions and a heightened security forces presence are likely in and around Sayyid al-Shuhada school in Kabul's Dasht-e-Barchi area (Police District 13) through May 8 and possibly early May 9 following an apparent bomb attack that left at least 25 people dead and 52 more injured during the late afternoon of May 8. The casualty figure is likely to be adjusted in the coming hours. The exact cause of the blasts is unclear. Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least three explosions occurred and that the blasts were triggered by the detonation of a car bomb. There have been no claims of responsibility for the attack. The Taleban have denied responsibility for the attack.

Confrontations have reportedly occurred between persons gathering at the scene and first responders. Further gatherings and/or protests in response to the attack remain possible in the coming hours. These could occur at the impact site or nearby medical centers. Confrontations between emergency service personnel and demonstrators are possible.
