South Africa: EFF members plan to protest in Tshwane (Pretoria), June 25 to demand the supply of COVID-19 vaccines

Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) political party plan to protest in Tshwane (Pretoria), June 25 against the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and the reported reluctance to authorize the use of COVID-19 vaccines from Russia and China. Organizers have called participants to meet at Building A, Loftus Park, 402 Kirkness Street at 10:00. It remains unclear how many participants the event may draw; however, it is likely to be in the hundreds.

Security personnel will almost certainly monitor the protest and may try to break up the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely.
