Lesotho: Activists schedule march in Maseru, Aug. 20

Political activists plan to march in Maseru on Aug. 20. Participants will gather at 09:00 at the Sefikeng sa Moshoeshoe landmark and will march to Parliament. The march is scheduled to end at 13:00. The demonstration is scheduled to call on the government to revoke regulations that grant legislators petrol allowances. Hundreds of people may participate in the demonstration.

Security forces will almost certainly deploy to monitor the protest. Localized road travel disruptions near the march route are likely. Clashes between demonstrators and the police are possible if protesters ignore orders to disperse.
