As of Sept. 26, authorities in Delta state are maintaining a 19:00-07:00 curfew of indefinite duration in the Orhoakpor area of Ethiope East Local Government Area (LGA). Authorities implemented the curfew after assailants killed a local community leader during clashes the night of Sept. 23. Orhoakpor is located approximately 20 km (12 miles) east of Warri.
Authorities will likely maintain a heightened security presence across the impacted area in the near term. Localized transport disruptions are likely. Officials could also expand the restrictions if the security situation worsens. Protests in response to the measures are also possible. Should any protests occur, the potential for clashes is elevated.
