Authorities have closed select roads of Accra Feb. 3 amid an Extraordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) heads of state regarding the political situation in Burkina Faso. Affected areas include Jubilee Lounge (Kotoka International Airport, KIA) to Liberation Road at Opeibea, Liberation Road through Independence Avenue, and Kempinski Hotel to National Theatre.

Localized traffic disruptions and movement restrictions are likely on nearby roads. Heightened security presence is almost certain in the affected areas. Measures such as checkpoints, and thorough identity and vehicle checks, are likely. Road closures will likely remain in place through late Feb. 3. Spontaneous protests related to the political environment in Burkina Faso remain possible.
