Authorities have closed select roads of Accra March 25 amid an Extraordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) regarding the political situation in Mali, Guinea, and Burkina Faso. Affected areas include Jubilee Lounge (Kotoka International Airport, KIA) to Liberation Road at Opeibea, Liberation Road through Independence Avenue, and areas surrounding the Kempinski Hotel and the National Theatre.

Localized traffic disruptions and movement restrictions are likely on nearby roads. Several road diversions are in place. Heightened security presence is almost certain in the affected areas. Measures such as checkpoints, and thorough identity and vehicle checks, are likely. Road closures will likely remain in place through late March 25.
