Informational

Event

A water outage is affecting parts of Hachinohe City as of May 26 due to a damaged water pipe in Sawasato District. It is unclear when the water supply will be restored.

Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. Prolonged and recurrent water supply disruptions are possible until officials normalize the water supply.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water. Minimize nonessential water use. Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
