Officials in Hebei Province are imposing lockdown measures in parts of Shijiazhuang as of Aug. 29 due to COVID-19 activity. Residents in Chang'an, Qiaoxi, Xinhua, and Yuhua districts must work from home through at least 14:00 Aug. 31. Mass testing is underway and nonessential businesses must close. Public transport, including subway and bus services, are suspended. Entry and exit controls are likely in place. Tighter security protocols, including checkpoints, are in place in districts and neighborhoods to ensure compliance with the measures. Similar lockdown curbs are also in effect in other parts of Hebei Province, including Xianghe and Zhouzhou. Authorities could extend the measures if new COVID-19 cases emerge.
Additional measures are possible in other parts of Hebei Province if there are new COVID-19 cases. Provincial and municipal governments may require testing and/or quarantine for travelers from the affected areas in Hebei Province; some local governments may ban travelers with a recent travel history to such locations. Officials could launch testing operations in other areas of Hebei Province.
