Warning

Event

Officials in Zambia are easing domestic COVID-19 measures as of Sept. 29. All restrictions are lifted on public gatherings, physical distancing, and wearing masks in public.

Domestic Measures
Businesses, governmental institutions, and other establishments may require individuals to adhere to additional COVID-19-related measures to enter their premises or access services. Some establishments and services may be subject to reduced operating schedules.

International Travel Restrictions

  • Vaccinated travelers must show proof of a completed vaccination scheme. A negative PCR test is not required.

  • Unvaccinated individuals traveling to Zambia must provide a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival; children under the age of 12 are exempt from this requirement. Persons arriving without a test will be tested upon arrival at their own cost and placed in quarantine until the test result is known. If positive, self-quarantine for 14 days, at the traveler’s cost, is required.

  • Additionally, all travelers arriving with a temperature of 38 C (100.4 F) or higher or who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms are subject to COVID-19 testing and must quarantine at home or in a designated government facility at least until the test result is confirmed.

Authorities could implement further preventative measures or ease certain restrictions depending on disease activity in the coming days and weeks.
