Israel/Palestinian Terr.: Two attempted car-ramming attacks in West Bank Dec. 11

Event

Two separate attempted car-ramming attacks were reported in the West Bank on Tuesday, December 11. According to security officials, police officers shot and killed a Palestinian man after he failed to stop his vehicle and attempted to run them over near the city of Hebron. In a separate incident in the West Bank on Tuesday, security forces arrested a Palestinian man suspected of having attempted to ram a vehicle into a group of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) personnel. A heightened security presence is to be anticipated in the area in the coming hours. Further such attacks cannot be ruled out. 

Context

Palestinian attacks targeting Israelis are not uncommon in the West Bank. Israeli Defense Forces have been conducting searches in Palestinian villages and towns in recent days, which have notably caused clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the area.
