Event

Members of the "Sardine" movement have called for a protest in Biella (Piedmont region) and Cremona (Lombardy region) on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21, to denounce Lega Nord ruling party policies. In Biella, participants plan to gather at Viale Giacomo Matteotti from 16:30 to 19:00 (local time) on Friday, December 20. In Cremona, activists are due to meet at Piazza Della Pace from 18:30 to 19:30 on Saturday, December 21. Related protests are possible in urban centers across the country. Clashes with Lega Nord-supporting counter-protesters cannot be ruled out.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected near all protest sites.

Advice

Individuals in Italy, notably in Biella and Cremona, are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, anticipate localized business and transportation disruptions near protest sites, and obey instructions issued by the local authorities.
