According to defense officials, at least 20 people have been killed and more than 20 others wounded in a shooting rampage in Nakhon Ratchsima (Nakhon Ratchasima province) on Saturday, February 8. The assailant - a Thai soldier - reportedly opened fire at several locations throughout the city, including a home, an army base, and the Terminal 21 shopping mall. As of early (local time) Sunday, February 9, the gunman remains at large within the shopping mall, and it is unclear if anyone has been taken hostage. Avoid the area.  

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the mall over the coming hours.
