A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) targeted security personnel in Lafole (Afgooye district; Lower Shabelle region) on Thursday morning, November 19. Unconfirmed reports state that at least two were killed and several others injured. Responsibility for the blast was not immediately claimed.

Security operations are possible in the vicinity over the coming hours. Localized disruptions to transport are also expected following the incident.
