Indian security forces engaged several suspected militants in the Amshipora village in Shopian district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on Saturday morning, July 18, following a cordon and search operation. Police officials reported that three suspected Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants were killed during a prolonged gunfight.

Further clashes between security forces and militants in Shopian district and across Jammu and Kashmir territory are expected over the near term.
