A Frecciarossa high-speed train derailed near Lodi at approximately 05:35 (local time) on Thursday, February 6. Emergency personnel have deployed to the area to assist passengers injured in the accident. There are unconfirmed reports that at least two passengers were killed. The train was traveling along the Milan-Bologna line and rail service has been suspend in both directions between Milan and Piacenza as of 08:00. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing and details are still emerging.
