Iceland: Orange weather warnings issued across the country January 14-15

Meteorological authorities issue orange weather warnings across the island nation January 14-15; associated transportation disruptions expected

The Icelandic Met Office issued orange weather warnings for several regions from Tuesday, January 14, through Wednesday, January 15. Orange warnings for heavy wind will remain in effect until Wednesday at 23:59 (local time) in Westfjords, Breidafjordur, and Northwest regions while orange warnings for snow will be in effect until 17:00 of that day. Authorities advised to avoid travel until Wednesday due to poor visibility. Additional yellow alerts for wind will also remain in effect until Wednesday across the country.
