North Korea fires suspected short-range cruise missiles into the East Sea from Munchon on April 14; similar missile tests expected over the near term

Multiple short-range cruise missiles were reportedly launched into the East Sea from the town of Munchon (Gangwon-do) on the morning (local time) of Tuesday, April 14. According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), the missiles were launched around 07:00 and flew about 150 km (93 mi) before falling into the sea. The projectiles are believed to be surface-to-ship missiles. A similar missile test was conducted on Monday, March 2.

Similar North Korean missile launches are possible over the near term.
