Ecuador: Student demonstration in Quito December 12

Associations representing students have called for a demonstration to take place in Quito on Wednesday, December 12. According to local sources, the demonstration is being held to protest the December 7 death of a student. Demonstrators are expected to rally starting at 10:00 (local time) at the Medical Sciences University, before marching towards the Supreme Court. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are anticipated in the vicinity of the march.
