Officials at Met Éireann issued yellow snow and ice warnings for Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27. It forecasts wintry showers of hail and sleet to impact the whole country through to 09:00 (local time) on Wednesday. After this, it has issued a yellow snow and ice warning for Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo from 09:00 on Wednesday through 12:00 on Thursday. Yellow gale marine warnings are also in place for west to northwest winds on coastal waters from Roches Point to Valentia and to Erris Head.

Transportation disruptions, including hazardous driving conditions, power outages, and other associated disruptions are expected in affected areas in the coming hours.
