Pakistan: Professors plan demonstrations in Punjab province February 3, 10

A professors association is planning demonstrations in Rawalpindi and Lahore on February 3, 10; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) has called for a protest in Rawalpindi on Monday, February 3, and a sit-in in Lahore on Monday, February 10, to oppose the privatization of government colleges in Punjab province. Participants in Rawalpindi plan to gather at the Rawalpindi Press Club. Protesters in Lahore are expected to hold the sit-in in front of the Punjab Assembly. Organizers did not immediately announce an exact meeting time for either demonstration. 

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near any demonstration.
