Al-Qai’da in the Arab Peninsula (AQAP) claims responsibility for US Naval Air Station Pensacola attack February 2
Event
In a video posted on Sunday, February 2, the Al-Qai'da in the Arab Peninsula (AQAP) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the US Naval Station Pensacola attack that left four people dead - including the attacker - and eight wounded on December 6.
The perpetrator was a 21-year-old Saudi-born second lieutenant in the Royal Saudi Air Force training at Naval Air Station Pensacola. As a result of the attack 21 Saudi military trainees were sent back to Saudi Arabia.
Context
The threat of terrorism remains relatively high in the country. The most pressing current threat appears to be "lone wolf" attacks perpetrated by individuals inspired by international terrorist organizations, such as IS.

Individuals in the United States are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or objects to the relevant authorities, particularly when in crowded areas.
