Warning

Event

On Monday, January 14, the Saudi General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection issued warnings for dust storms and thunderstorms for Mecca, Khobar, Najran, Rafha, Al-Jawf, and Hail regions. Adverse weather is forecast in the abovementioned regions from Wednesday, January 16, through Sunday, January 20. The storms may result in poor visibility on roads and hazardous driving conditions in the coming days. Other transportation disruptions - including flight delays and cancelations - cannot be ruled out.

Advice

Individuals in or planning travel to Saudi Arabia are advised to monitor weather reports, confirm travel reservations, and exercise caution when driving with poor visibility. Furthermore, as sand and dust storms may provoke respiratory difficulties, it is advised to limit time outside in extremely dusty conditions.
