France: One fatality recorded following shooting in Dreux January 3

At least one man was killed and another one injured following a shooting in Dreux (Eure-et-Loir) on Friday, January 3. Police officials stated that a man entered the city hall at around 10:00 (local time) with a hunting rifle before shooting an official in the leg. He then killed himself. The incident would be the result of a private matter, according to authorities.

A heightened security presence along with transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the incident over the coming hours.
