India: Traffic disruptions due to heavy snowfall in Kashmir region January 10

On the evening (local time) of Thursday, January 10, heavy snowfall hit the Jammu & Kashmir state, which persists as of Friday, January 11, prompting local authorities to close the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway until further notice. According to the local government, traffic will resume once weather conditions in the area will improve. Flight operations at the Srinagar International Airport (SXR) were, however, not affected. Further snowfall are likely in Jammu & Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
