The Iceland Meteorological Office issued an orange weather alert for Tuesday, December 10, for most parts of the country due to a severe winter storm that is forecast to bring rain, snow, ice, and hurricane-force winds. A red weather alert has been issued for Northwestern region and may be expanded to other areas over the coming hours. The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration will reportedly close roads into and out of Reykjavik, including to Keflavik International Airport (KEF), starting at 12:00 (local time) on Tuesday for a period of 24 hours.
