Militants kill member of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Anantnag district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) on April 7; security forces launch operation to find assailants

On Tuesday, April 7, militants killed a member of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in an attack on a highway near the local police station in the Bijbehara area of Anantnag district (Jammu and Kashmir territory). Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to find those responsible and some areas have been cordoned off as part of the operation.

Similar militant attacks are possible in Jammu and Kashmir territory over the near term.

Individuals in Jammu and Kashmir territory are advised to monitor developments, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.

Some foreign governments advise their citizens against travel to parts of Kashmir, notably including areas along the Line of Control (LoC), due to the significant risk of violence.
