US: Flight disruptions at Denver International Airport (Colorado state) due to snowstorm November 26

Nearly 500 flights canceled at Denver International Airport (Colorado state) on November 26 due to snowstorm; confirm flight status

Warning

Event

Nearly 500 flights have been canceled and more than 350 others delayed at Denver International Airport (DEN) in Colorado state on Tuesday, November 26, due to a snowstorm. The storm has brought at least 30 cm (12 in) of snow and wind gusts of 72 kph (45 mph) to parts of Colorado. The system is tracking northwest and is expected to impact northwest Kansas state and western Nebraska state late Tuesday afternoon (local time). Inclement weather has forced the closure eastbound Interstate 70 from east of Denver to the Kansas state line, and Interstate 76 from Denver northeast to the Nebraska state line. Schools and businesses in the Denver metropolitan area were closed on Tuesday, and officials have advised drivers to stay off the roads.

Further flight disruptions are to be expected in the coming hours and residual delays are likely throughout the day.

Advice

Travelers to and from DEN are advised to confirm their flight status prior to departure for the airport and contact their airline for more information. Individuals in Denver are advised to remain cautious when driving or walking in snowy/icy conditions, adhere to any advice issued by the local authorities, and keep abreast of the situation via weather forecasts.
