Colombia: Explosion at mine in San Cayetano (Norte de Santander department) leaves six dead April 3

Event

Six miners were found dead following an explosion at a mine in the municipality of San Cayetano (Norte de Santander department) on Friday, April 3. One of the miners was rescued during emergency operations and later transferred to the Erasmo Meoz University Hospital in Cucuta. An investigation has been opened into the incident.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, such as road closures, are expected in the vicinity of the incident.
