South African Airways cancels dozens of flights due to lack of liquidity January 21; confirm flight reservations

On Tuesday, January 21, officials from South African Airways announced the cancelation of more than 20 domestic flights and ten international flights between South Africa and Munich (Germany) over the coming week. According to the airline, these cancelations are an effort to conserve money, as the airline has not yet received the emergency assistance promised to it by the South African government in December.

Further cancelations are possible over the near term.
