Members of the Military Command Council for the Salvation of the Republic (CCMSR) militant group reportedly ambushed an army position in Tibesti region on Wednesday, February 19. According to an official statement, soldiers repelled the attack, killing at least 50 militants and wounding 38 others. 

A heightened security presence is to be expected in the affected area over the coming days.
