Hong Kong solidarity protest scheduled in Taipei for October 25; heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions expected

Civil rights advocates have called for a rally in in Taipei on Sunday, October 25, to call for the release of 12 Hong Kong residents who were detained while attempting to flee to Taiwan. Protesters will reportedly gather around 14:00 (local time) at Zhongxiao Fuxing Station before marching to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.

Heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around the protest.
