Sixteen people were killed when a bus was caught in a landslide on a mountain road in Gilgit-Baltistan region on Sunday, October 18. The bus was traveling from Rawalpindi to Skardu when it was forced off the road and buried by a landslide in the Tungus area.

Local officials were working to clear the debris and reopen the road on Sunday; however, residual disruptions are possible in the near term.
