Air Italy crew members to join 24-hour strike with Alitalia workers on December 13; flight disruptions expected

Unions representing Air Italy workers announced on Monday, December 9, that they will also organize a 24-hour strike on Friday, December 13. Workers for national carrier Alitalia are already planning to strike on Friday. According to media reports, airport personnel may also participate in the work stoppage. The strikes are scheduled to be held from 00:01 until 23:59 (local time).

Significant flight disruptions, including delays, modified timetables, and cancelations, are possible if the strike is held.

Context

Aviation workers held a nationwide four-hour strike on November 25, forcing Alitalia to cancel approximately 200 domestic and international flights.
