One militant was killed in clashes with security forces in the Sopore area of Baramulla district (Jammu and Kashmir territory) following an overnight operation on Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8. A joint military and police operation was launched in the Arampora area of Sopore on Tuesday evening following reports of the presence of militants in the area. A 14-hour siege ensued, culminating in a gunfight between the security forces and the militants.

Security forces have launched further operations to track down the remaining militants are similar clashes are possible in the area over the near term.
