Heavy fog causes rail and air transport delays in Delhi December 20; residual disruptions expected in the coming hours

Flight disruptions have been reported at Indira-Ghandi Airport (DEL), where delays and diversions due to dense fog have affected more than ten flights in the morning (local time) on Friday, December 20. The budget airline Indigo has issued an advisory asking passenger to confirm the status of all flights to or from DEL, Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), Bhubaneswar Airport (BBI), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), and Guwahati Airports (GAU).

Delays of up to two hours have also been reported on the Northern Railway, affecting an estimated 109 trains on all routes from Delhi via Tundla, Rewari, Agra, Ambala Moradabad, Saharanpur, and Bhatinda.

Residual transportation disruptions are expected over the coming hours.
