Panama: Strike scheduled in Colón February 3-4

The Alliance Movement Just Cause has called for a strike in Colón from Monday, February 3, to Tuesday, February 4, likely to call for unemployment rights or employment opportunities.

Participants have called for the closure of 62 areas and corridors across Colon, therefore likely to prompt significant transportation disruptions throughout the province on Monday and Tuesday. The government has asked for no violence or challenge to normal operations. A heightened security presence is likely.
