Event
Israeli forces and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) militants have reportedly reached a ceasefire in the evening (local time) on Monday, February 24, following two consecutive days of clashes along the Israeli-Gaza border. Authorities seek to open the Eres crossing point to allow foreigners and those in need of medical care to enter Israel. According to Israeli authorities, about 80 rockets have been fired by Islamic Jihad into Israeli territory since Sunday, February 23, most of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome.
It remains unclear as of Tuesday, February 25, as to how long the ceasefire will last.
